Saw Palmetto is an herbal medicine used in the treatment of enlarged prostate; the extracts have in fact demonstrated a peripheral antiandrogenic effect, by interacting on testosterone metabolism at the prostate level, and an inhibitory effect on lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase with consequent anti-inflammatory effects.
