In South Africa, Rooibos is traditionally used as a thirst quenching drink, prepared in the same way as tea and sometimes sweetened with sugar or honey, and/or with lemon or milk added.
An invigorating and energizing drink, as it provides numerous mineral salts ideal for the good functioning of muscles, therefore ideal after a long period of sweating or heavy physical activity. It therefore causes a stimulating effect for diuresis and detoxing, while it seems to have a mild antiseptic capacity, especially useful in the urinary tract. Finally, it can stimulate the production of gastric juices, facilitating digestion.
