Peaches have very hard pits in which the seed is enclosed. This seed is rich in a toxic substance, similar to cyanide, which the plant produces to prevent it from being eaten by the animals in order to ensure its offspring.

Rich in water up to 90% and therefore used as a refreshing thirst-quencher and it even has diuretic and slightly laxative properties useful against constipation, kidney stones and cellulite.

An important element is iodine, especially those with white flesh; iodine helps the thyroid function and is therefore suitable for hypothyroidism.

Peaches have an important remineralising and restoring action, thanks to their rich mineralcontent, useful especially in summer.
