Dandelion is one of the natural remedies against water retention.
The therapeutic use of this plant was not known in antiquity. In the Middle Ages, according to the Doctrine of the Signatures, with a flower being yellow just like yellow bile, it began to be used as a liver remedy.

The dandelion root has detoxifying properties, as it stimulates biliary, hepatic and renal function, i.e. it activates the excretory organs (liver, kidney and skin)

It has purifying, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties with regards to the liver: they stimulate the elimination of waste (sugars, triglycerides, cholesterol and uric acids) making the dandelion a hepatoprotective plant
