Cynarine is a polyphenol found in artichoke leaves, and is a derivative of caffeic acid.

It has hepatoprotective, choleretic, cholagogic, diuretic and antioxidant properties, and acts mainly on the liver:

- Protects liver cells

- Stimulates bile production

- Promotes the emptying of the gallbladder and stimulates the outflow of bile into the duodenum.

Recommended for the treatment of various liver diseases, high cholesterol, and dyspepsia.

Cynarine is present in its maximum concentration during the formation of the artichoke head, the part most commonly used in cooking.
